A little guidance. A lot less juggling.

Make room for
family life.

Your guide to Nidox on iPhone, iPad, Android and the browser. One family space, with a few differences between devices.

01

Your account, everywhere

Use your existing Nidox account and original sign-in provider. Available sign-in options vary by platform.

02

Invite your people

Add family profiles, then invite the people who need their own sign-in. A profile alone is not an account.

03

Choose what feels right

Set your language, theme and optional permissions. Location, microphone and calendar access are choices.

Getting started & your family

A shared home for everyone, without starting over on each device.

  • Open Nidox and use your existing account with its original sign-in provider. Sign-in options vary by platform. If your family is missing, check the account before creating a new family.
  • Create a family or accept its invitation. An invitation can connect your account to an existing member profile, including their assigned plans and chores.
  • Owners and adults manage the family within their role. Children and viewers have more limited access. Signing in never overrides those permissions.
  • Your account preferences and private assistant history belong to you. Family members share the organiser, not every personal setting.

Calendar & school timetables

Know who needs to be where, and keep everyone on the same page.

  • Create an event with its date, time, participants and location. Use all-day plans for civil dates and recurrence for routines. Check the time zone for travel.
  • Add school timetables for each child. Review extracted lessons before saving an imported timetable; a photo is not automatically a confirmed schedule.
  • Device-calendar copying is optional and set per person/device. iOS uses calendar permission; Android lets you choose a writable device calendar. Browser calendar export is a separate action.
  • Connected Google, Outlook and iCloud calendars are a separate feature, disabled by default. It appears only when enabled for your account and the provider setup is ready. Imports start private; sharing with the family is an explicit choice. Read-only import does not write to the original calendar.

Chores & a home that works together

Less reminding, clearer responsibility and a little celebration.

  • Choose a familiar chore from the catalogue or create your own. Set the person, due date, recurrence and optional points. Review changes before saving.
  • Mark a chore complete when it is done. Recurrence and completion history are handled separately, so your next task can remain outstanding.
  • On the web, switch between the list and home-care views. Save your home layout for the family, then use rooms and objects to find related chores and quick actions.
  • AI suggestions explain why a task might help. Review them yourself; an overdue status is based on recorded activity, not sensors watching your home.

Shopping lists

One list, fewer forgotten things.

  • Keep named lists for different shops or purposes. Add quantities and categories, and tick items off as you buy them.
  • Changes are shared with the family when devices reconnect. An offline edit may still need server approval if your permissions changed.
  • Use a recipe’s ingredients action to add what you need to a shopping list. Check your selected servings and what is already in the cupboard.

Meals, recipes & the week ahead

Breakfast, lunch and dinner, planned around your table.

  • Choose a breakfast, lunch or dinner slot in the week planner. Select a saved recipe, discover a shared recipe or create your own. Planning places the meal into the selected slot.
  • Adjust servings for your family and mark personal favourites with a heart. Recipe quantities scale with the selected servings; ingredient and packaging checks still matter.
  • Search the shared catalogue by dish, cuisine, time, difficulty, dietary labels and declared allergens. It is available to signed-in Nidox users without generating another recipe.
  • AI can suggest a structured recipe or reuse an existing match. Review the ingredients, instructions and estimated nutrition. Allergen labels and nutrition are estimates, not an allergy-safety or medical guarantee.
  • Generic generated recipes may be added to the shared catalogue. Family identity, personal prompts and allergy profiles are not catalogue content. Saved family recipes, plans and shopping lists remain in the family space.

Holidays, bookings & budgets

The plan, the reservation and the price each have their place.

  • Start a trip with dates, destination, travellers and budget currency. Add day-by-day activities without losing the reservations they relate to.
  • Use bookings for actual reservations: hotel address, check-in/out, board type, flight number, airports and the details you know. An itinerary idea is not a confirmed booking.
  • AI itinerary suggestions are editable proposals. Review places, opening times and prices before relying on them. AI cannot make a hotel or flight reservation for you.
  • Use the same currency for the budget and itinerary estimates. Where reference conversions are available, original prices remain visible. Missing prices or rates mean the total is incomplete.
  • Place names follow the selected language when supported. Changing language does not rewrite existing plans. Automatic official flight-status enrichment is not active.

Ask Nidox

Help with the organising, while you stay in control.

  • Ask a question or describe what you want to organise. Relevant page and family context can help Nidox propose the right action. Review structured proposals before approving changes.
  • On the web, the assistant stays alongside your workspace. Your draft, conversation and ongoing reply survive page navigation and closing/reopening the panel. A full browser reload may discard an unsent draft.
  • Assistant conversations are private to their account owner. Changing account, family or membership session clears the active private workspace.
  • Dictation starts only when you activate the microphone. Grant the requested permission, speak, review the transcript, then send it. Native support depends on your device; browser recognition may use the browser provider.
  • AI has family usage and cost limits. Imported text and suggestions can be wrong: check dates, people, quantities and sensitive information before sending or saving.

Follow Me & notifications

Share a journey on your terms, and keep useful updates together.

  • Start Follow Me yourself. Choose who can see it, how long it lasts and, optionally, where you are going. Stop it whenever you want. Another member cannot start it on your behalf.
  • Location permission, connectivity and operating-system restrictions affect tracking. Native background sharing and supported Live Activities or ongoing notifications differ by device. Browser tracking needs an active page.
  • Follow Me shares sampled route points, not every footstep. It is not an emergency service. Consider what is visible on a shared screen or Lock Screen.
  • Open the notification inbox for recorded updates. Push permission and delivery are separate: receiving or scheduling a push does not prove an inbox item was read or an alert displayed.

Permissions, privacy & languages

Know what is shared and what remains your choice.

  • Use English, German or Spanish for the interface. Family content stays in the language in which it was written; switching language does not translate saved notes or recipes.
  • Camera, photos, microphone, notifications, calendars and location are requested for the features that use them. You can change device permissions later in system settings.
  • Family data is protected by authentication, roles and backend checks. It is encrypted in transit and at rest, but is not end-to-end encrypted; authorised service administrators can technically access stored data.
  • Connecting an external assistant through MCP is optional. Only approve the family and permissions you intend to share, and revoke the connection in Settings → Connected apps. The external provider handles data it receives under its own policy.
  • For account deletion, open Account settings or the account deletion page. Shared content may remain for continuing family members; cancel any store subscription separately.

Apps, testing & Pro

The same family data, with native features where your device supports them.

  • The browser app is available through Log in. Mobile store links are shown only when published; a coming-soon badge is not a download link.
  • Invited mobile testers may receive a Firebase App Distribution email. Android uses a signed installation package. On iOS, device registration and a suitable signed build may be required. Follow only the invitation you expect.
  • Test builds can connect to the live Nidox service. Changes to a production family are real changes, even when the app was downloaded for testing.
  • iOS has supported widgets, Shortcuts and Live Activities; Android has widgets and supported ongoing notifications. These do not behave identically, and the browser has no native system widget.
  • Pro is a family entitlement, currently CHF 3.90/month or CHF 39/year. Actual purchase availability and price are shown by the supported store. Store setup and publication remain separate release steps.
